As part of the project, we got to work with Lorne to create pollen patties. Lorne puts this in the beehive, and the bees feed the pollen to the larvae in the beehive, which makes the larvae grow big and strong. Also, when the queen bee sees the pollen in the hive, she is stimulated to lay more eggs. This step is really important when you have a late spring, as it ensures that you have enough working bees to pollinate the flowers when they finally come out.
